Our speaker this year for the Illinois State Association is Dr. Garnett Reid.
He will be focusing on the Cross in his messages Friday morning, Friday evening, and Saturday morning.
Dr. Reid has been a member of the Biblical and Ministry Studies faculty at Free Will Baptist Bible College since 1982.
His specialty is Old Testament studies. He is an ordained Free Will Baptist minister who pastored Cross Timbers FWB Church in Nashville (1978-1982) before joining the FWBBC faculty. Dr. Reid writes the “Intersect” Bible study column in ONE Magazine. He previously wrote the monthly “Green Tree Bible Study” column in Contact.
He holds three college degrees—B.A., FWBBC (1977); M.A., Bob Jones University (1978); Ph.D., Bob Jones University (1991).
In addition to being frequently published in denominational publications, Dr. Reid also publishes in leading theological and Old Testament journals, The Journal for the Study of the Old Testament (JSOT) and The Journal of the Evangelical Theological Society (JETS). He recently completed a manuscript on the book of Job which is being reviewed by a West Coast firm for possible publication.
Dr. Reid’s wife (Mrs. Carol Reid) is the librarian at FWBBC.
