Introducing the New ILFWB.org.

Posted on 11 March 2009 by travis.penn

We are excited to introduce the new ILFWB website.  The old one had served its purpose, but we have been desperate for an upgrade.   I think you will enjoy some of the features of the new website.  Here’s a few for starters:

1. You can subscribe to the news articles by email, or get them in your favorite feed reader.  (I’m an avid google reader fan.)  Just click on the orange RSS icon at the top right of the page.

2. You can actually comment on articles.  Have a question about Camp Hope?  Really enjoy the last Disaster Relief Trip?  Let us know about it.  Just click on the comments link at the bottom of any article to view or leave comments.  We’d love to hear from you.  (If you would, leave some comments at the bottom of this article to let us know what you think about the new site, or what else you might like to see.)

3. You can add content.  If you have information or news concerning Free Will Baptists in the state, we’d love to post it on the site.  If you’d like to be a regular contributor send us an email, and we’ll be glad to set you up with an account.  You can also always just send an email with the content you would like to have displayed.

4.  You can easily access news from other Free Will Baptist Organizations.  If you follow the right hand column down the page, you’ll see two “feeds” we are currently serving.  One is from the Media Commission and the other from the WNAC blog.  These articles will continue to be updated as the authors from these websites add information.   We hope to be adding a feed from ONE magazine later this spring.

We hope you’ll enjoy the new look, and more importantly an even better way to get the content that you need.

Yep, this is WordPress. I’m really impressed with what it can do – and I’ve only done a little with it so far. I think you guys could build a nice site with very little angst.

    Harlen,

Since you are using WP too, we’ll be able to bring in current news from your church website to the state website. I think this can be a great tool to help get up to date content to people around the state.

    Thanks for stopping by.

This is better than anything else I have to get news all the way over here in ZhengZhou. Especially appreciated reading about the IGO intro.

What a joy to come to the ‘new’ ilfwb.org! The old website gave me tremors to try to navigate! I know it was a lot of work to set up, but the user friendly aspect will make this a great tool for Illinois Free Will Baptists (every arm of it’s ministry) to stay connected. The potential for good is endless. Thanks to all involved in setting it up and keeping it going – from the people of Ina FWB Church thru the keyboard of KatsGram!
